How can you have the most impact on your neighborhood? Be an elected Director and help chart the course of our new Neighborhood Association in 2021 and beyond.

 
 

The Neighbors of East Village is a new Neighborhood Association that will represent the interests of residents and businesses located in the East Village neighborhood of Dallas. As the newest neighborhood association in Dallas, we need to elect a Board of Directors to set and execute a vision for how our neighborhood will progress in the years to come. Below are the details the Board of Directors and each Director position;

  • Elected members of the Board, referred to as "Directors,” of the Neighbors of East Village (NOEV) shall hold officer positions consisting of the President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary.

  • Directors are required to be owners of property or businesses operating within the NOEV boundaries. If a Director ceases to be the owner of property or a business operating within the NOEV boundaries, such Director shall be deemed to have resigned effective at that time.

  • Directors shall be nominated for the following year no later than October and elected in a vote held no later than November at a meeting by the quorum present. The elected candidates will take office at the January meeting.

  • Directors shall serve a one-year term from January 1st of the year elected until December 31st.

The Board of Directors consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The details of each Director is as follows;

  • President shall oversee all operations of the NOEV, including the performance of duties assigned to the other Directors. The President shall preside at all meetings of the Board and the NOEV and shall be an ex-officio member of all standing committees. The President may attend meetings of the NOEV by proxy to another Director. The President shall be empowered to speak on behalf of the NOEV consistent with the objectives and prior resolutions of the NOEV. The President shall advise the membership regarding any such interactions on behalf of the NOEV at the next regular meeting.

  • Vice President shall fulfill the duties of the President in the President’s absence and shall assist the president in the execution of business. The Vice President shall also have the authority to sign checks drawn on the account of the NOEV when the Secretary is unavailable.

  • Treasurer shall be responsible for keeping an accurate record of all business of the NOEV, shall keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, and shall sign all checks drawn on the account of the NOEV. The Treasurer shall also report at each meeting the balance in the account and the number of members in Good Standing. The Treasurer shall be responsible for preparing and shall ensure the NOEV files any and all necessary reports or other periodic filings with appropriate government agencies.

  • Secretary shall be responsible for drafting and publishing notices of meetings and votes of the NOEV, keeping an accurate record of the membership of the NOEV, for tallying and recording any votes of the members of the NOEV, and for recording minutes of all meetings of the Board and the NOEV. If the Secretary cannot attend a meeting of the Board or the NOEV, the Secretary may delegate these duties to any member, who will be responsible for fulfilling these duties at that meeting.
